Vijayaveedhi is a popular project in Kerala which is part of the State Government's 100 Day Action Plan and is being implemented at the Panchayat level as per Government of Kerala Order No. G.O. (Rt) No.1103/2020/ID, Dated Thiruvananthapuram 24-12-2020 formulated by the Department of Commerce and Industry.

Unemployed youngsters and job seekers are longing for permanent jobs in government departments, in governmental agencies or in public sector. Recruitments to these institutions are based on competitive examinations. Hence the educated job seekers are looking for credible coaching centres to get trained for appearing the competitive examinations. Kerala State Rutronix being a reputed government-controlled training institution can effectively involve in the training programme utilising its rich experience ... in conducting various computer and IT based programmes throughout the state. Rutronix will able to provide the training programme whole over the state in a uniform and structured manner affordable to common public. This may give an opportunity to all unemployed youth to compete in the competitive examinations. In this context, a training programme, named- “Vijayaveedhi” has been designed by Rutronix for imparting training to the employment seekers for attending various competitive examinations for the recruitments conducted by KPSC, UPSC, Staff Selection Commission, Banking Service Recruitment Boards, Railway Recruitment Board, various Governmental and Public sector agencies, bodies etc.

Scope of the programme

The Economic Review, tabled in the Kerala Assembly on January 14, 2021, revealed that the unemployment rate among youth in the state is around 36% in 2018-19. This is again more than double the national average rate of 17%. Data from the Employment Exchanges in Kerala (central or state government offices that collect information on prospective employers, job seekers and vacancies) reveals that not many have been placed in the last two years. According to the live register of employment exchanges in Kerala, as of July 31, 2020, there were 34.3 lakh job seekers in the state. The unemployment in Kerala is educated unemployment, a situation where a person cannot find a job suitable to his qualifications. The job seekers in Kerala aspire to get a permanent job, not work for a living. Therefore, they wait for a better opportunity, which creates a situation of educated unemployment in Kerala. The unemployment rate is always high among the youth because there are few opportunities for a permanent job or a job suitable for them. Kerala's unemployment rate among women is much higher than men. Women are more likely to choose employment within the state particularly in govern ment institutions. Hence competition among the job seeks is very high compared to yester years. The unrest in private and other non-organised professions especially in the wake of pandemic covid -19 have also aggravated the situation. These situations contributed to strict competition among the job seekers in Government, PSUs and similar organisation which offer permanent jobs. Thus, there are enough reasons to assume that the proposed training programme will be very successful.

Target Group

Aspirants for employment in Government sector are the main target group. Candidates who are intent to appear competitive examinations of KPSC, UPSC, SSC, Banking Service Recruitment Boards, Railway recruitment boards, various Governmental and Public sector agencies & bodies etc. They may be having educational qualification of 10th passed and above, between the age group of 18 to 35 years generally. Students undergoing various university programmes and job-oriented courses will also find time for preparing the is their foremost candidates in the competitive examination for availing a dream job, which is the desire. Hence it can be assumed that there will be lakhs of candid expected target group.
